It helps restore normal movement and relieve pain. There may be some soreness after a deep tissue massage, however, the soreness you feel should dissipate within a day or two. A good way to recover from this type of massage is by soaking in a warm bath with Epson salts. I also recommend that you take it easy after for a day, as your muscle need some rest. Being properly hydrated before you go to your massage appointment and drinking plenty of water after one of these massages is highly recommended.

Hot stone massage involves the application of, and massage with, water-heated basalt stones of varying sizes. The direct heat relaxes muscles, allowing manipulation of a greater intensity than with regular massage, while creating a feeling of warmth and comfort.
Cold stones can also be used with this technique to increase lymphatic flow in the body.
Cupping
Cupping involves placing glass, silicone or plastic jars/cups on the skin and creating a vacuum by suctioning out the air. The underlying tissue is raised, or sucked, partway into the cup. The purpose of cupping is to enhance circulation, help relieve pain & increase range of motion (ROM). Rather than applying pressure to muscles, the suction uses pressure to pull skin, tissue and muscles upward. Cupping causes the skin to temporarily turn red, blue or purple, especially if there is an injury or energetic blockage under the area that was cupped. The skin discoloration can last anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, but is rarely painful. Once the marks have cleared, the procedure can be repeated until the condition or ailment is resolved.
